- Ensemble music with flexible instrumentation that is ideal for classroom/instrumental teachers and/or ensemble directors who have difficulty catering for the exact combination of instruments and abilities in their group.
- Music for elementary level performers that appeals to beginners of all ages.
- Pieces that have been “test-driven” by students, teachers and/or other performers in situations such as school ensemble rehearsals, private lessons, competitions, exams, concerts, etc.

First 5 Series
The FIRST 5 series is suitable for elementary level performers of all ages. It contains seven pieces which are musically satisfying and fun to play without demanding more than basic technical ability and theoretical knowledge and the first five notes learned on the instrument. Accompaniments for each of the seven pieces are available below and also as FREE mp3 downloads.
Pitches used: Bb C D Eb F (concert pitch)
Articulations/signs used: staccato, accent, slur, tie, repeat, 1st and 2nd time bars.
Mix & Match Duets!
Each piece may be performed as a solo, duet or 2-part ensemble. All pieces in the First 5 series are in the same concert key, enabling performances with various combinations of these woodwind and brass instruments:
